How the MOJ Design System team is supporting consistency, accessibility and reuse across services.Last updated: 30 September 2026
This roadmap shows what we’re working on and planning to do next. It’s not fixed – our plans might change as we learn more, respond to feedback, or adjust priorities.
The roadmap is for transparency, to help with decision making, and encourage collaboration and reuse. Understand what improvements are coming so that your team can plan work with confidence.
Releases since July 2026
Since the introduction of a sitemap, the Design System documentation site is now fully accessible.
We’ve made content clearer on building block statuses. This is to help users understand how they should be used.
New and improved building blocks
We released improvements to the following components, taking them from ‘to be reviewed’ to ‘official’ status:
We’ve added 3 new building blocks:
- page template style for products on the Probational Delivery Service (PDS) platform
- spinner progress indicator component
- confirm an action pattern
What we’re working on now
The team is now:
- exploring designs to help PDS users identify people on probation in services
- carrying out a joint discovery into the MOJ header component and primary navigation component
- preparing for research on the filter component – contact the team to get involved
Coming up next
Next, the team will be:
- looking at a more consistent way for users of PDS services to get support and escalate problems
- releasing an improvement to the scrollable pane component
The future
In the coming months we’ll:
- continue to iterate ‘to be reviewed’ building blocks, to bring them to ‘official’ status
- work across MOJ domains to develop building blocks
